- no need to submit a 90-days report every 3 months (once a year with SmartVisa S)

- during the validity period of Smartvisa, you can enter and leave Thailand multiple times, as no special permission is required

- free fast-track service at international airports in Thailand

*under certain conditions, you will get the opportunity to extend SmartVisa up to 2 years - then on your visa your family (wife, children) will be able to stay and work in Thailand as close relatives.

SmartVisa S makes sense to compare with the following visa options:

- STUDENT (ED) visa. Processing time is 5-8 weeks. You can not leave Thailand (even having issued a re-entry). Government quotas = limited supply. The total cost for half a year is from 35 thousand Thai Baht, for a year - from 60 thousand Thai Baht. Physical attendance is required

- BUSINESS (NON-B) visa. Processing time is 6-... weeks. The total cost for the year is from 110 thousand Thai Baht. May need to leave Thailand

- TOURIST (TR) visa combined with border- and visa-runs. The total cost for six months from 35 thousand Thai Baht. You have to leave Thailand, and there is no guarantee that they will let you back

For business we recommend starting with Smartvisa type S for 6 months, as this

- will significantly reduce your costs of doing business

- will create a history of relations with THAILAND BOARD OF INVESTMENT, which upon successful BOI certification opens up opportunities to have preferences, for example for the foreigners to own 100% of Thai company and engage in activities prohibited for foreigners according to lists 2 and 3 of FOREIGN BUSINESS ACT

After submitting the requested documents through a personal account on the official website of the Smart Visa Thailand, they are considered up to 30 working days (we recommend setting aside two calendar months see the Thailand production calendar).

After approval of the application by the Committee (confirmation will be send to the email and displayed in your account), you have 60 CALENDAR days to upload your health insurance through your personal account and put SmartVisa in your passport in Bangkok at the immigration office on the same floor where the SMART VISA UNIT office is located; or at Thailand Embassies Worldwide.

At the time the Smart visa is stamped into your passport, the Thai government agency will charge each team member 10 thousand Thai Baht (or the equivalent when stamping the visa at the Thai embassy in another country).
